Just came to Singapore a week ago, I am seeking places that serves up nice american breakfast, preferably in the city area. Any advise?

You could try Dan Ryans Chicago Grill situated nest to Regend Hotel at Tanglin Rd.

Hello,
Just came by to share some information. Have tried Picotin not so long ago, for some breakfast with several friends.. Nice, cozy place with reasonable price too. They open at 8 o'clock in the morning. I'll PM you for details, perhaps you want to know more about the restaurant and have a try..
